Staying at Fanaka Campsite.
Fanaka Campsite is an independent property that Absolute Holiday Safaris books for its guests; we do not own or operate it. It is used on every Absolute budget safari that stays near Tarangire or Lake Manyara, often for two nights at the start of a northern-circuit safari.
The property is set in gardens around an outdoor swimming pool, a welcome sight after a dusty day among Tarangire's elephants. It gives the first nights of a Tanzania safari a relaxed, unhurried feel.
From here, Tarangire's baobab country and Lake Manyara's forest and lakeshore are both within easy reach, and the road climbs the Rift Valley escarpment towards Karatu, Ngorongoro and the Serengeti.
