Absolute Holiday Safaris

Where you stay

Safari accommodation, clearly explained.

Every Absolute itinerary tells you where you sleep. Budget safaris use a fixed set of camps and hotels in each destination; mid-range and luxury lodges are chosen with you once we know your dates.

Accommodation levels

Budget, mid-range or luxury.

The same parks and the same guides; the difference is where you sleep and how much flexibility you have in choosing it.

  • Budget

Tented camps, campsites and simple hotels fixed for each destination, so you know where you sleep before you book. Many budget safaris have published prices.

    Budget safaris
  • Mid-range

Comfortable lodges and permanent tented camps, agreed with you after you enquire and quoted for your dates. Our 3-day Maasai Mara lodge safari uses Jambo Mara Safari Lodge.

    Mid-range safaris
  • Luxury

Premium lodges and camps, often in quieter areas or private conservancies, chosen around your dates, preferences and availability and priced on request.

    Luxury safaris

Mid-range and luxury

Lodges chosen around your dates.

Lodge and tented-camp rates and availability change through the year, especially in the Maasai Mara and the Serengeti during migration season. Rather than fix a name that may be full on your dates, we suggest properties once we know when you travel, who is coming and what matters most to you.

Your written quote names every lodge before you book. The one exception is our 3 Days Maasai Mara Lodge Safari, which always uses Jambo Mara Safari Lodge, and the mid-range Nakuru nights that use Buraha Zenoni.

Questions travellers ask

About where you stay.

Does Absolute Holiday Safaris own these camps and hotels?

No. They are independent properties that we book for our guests. We list the ones our budget itineraries use so you know exactly where you will stay.

Can I choose my own lodge?

Yes. On mid-range and luxury safaris we agree lodges with you after you enquire. On budget safaris the properties are fixed, but we can quote an upgrade for any night.

Why are mid-range and luxury lodges not named in the itineraries?

Availability and rates change by date, so we suggest lodges once we know your dates, party size and preferences, and confirm them in your written quote.

Are the budget camps comfortable?

They are simple and clean, ranging from safari tents and campsites to straightforward hotels. Each guide describes what to expect, including cooler nights at the high campsites.

Are meals included at the accommodation?

Meals are as listed in each itinerary day. On most budget safaris, dinner and breakfast are taken at the camp or hotel.
